Position: Senior BI Consultant
Work hours: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Australian Time Zone
Compensation range: AUD$4,500 - AUD$5,000/month

Our client is a specialised data consultancy that serves mid-to-large corporate clients to transform data into actionable insights through advanced BI solutions and data warehouse implementations. About the role
We are seeking a Senior BI Consultant who combines strong technical expertise with excellent client-facing skills and business acumen. This role involves working directly with executives and business stakeholders to understand requirements, design solutions, and deliver actionable insights through Power BI dashboards and reports.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with C-level executives and senior business users to gather and refine requirements.
• Translate business needs (finance, sales, operations, etc.) into BI solutions.
• Design and deliver interactive Power BI dashboards and data models.
• Advise clients on best practices in data visualisation, KPIs, and reporting structures.
• Document requirements and communicate technical needs to internal data engineering teams.
• Lead workshops and UAT sessions with clients.
• Present insights and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear, commercial manner.
  

Requirements:

• 7–10+ years of Power BI and analytics experience, ideally gained in data-rich industries such as retail, manufacturing, or financial services, or within a consulting environment.
• Strong client-facing skills: ability to engage executives, gather requirements, and present solutions.
• Advanced Power BI and Excel skills: DAX, data modelling, drill-throughs, measures, time intelligence, time series calculation, and the calculate function.
• Strong understanding of business processes: AR/AP, general ledger, sales operations. A commercially minded individual who understands and analyses the business needs and translates them into data models. 
• Understanding data at a granular level.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work in consulting environments with mid-to-large corporate clients.
• Familiarity with enterprise systems (JDE, Salesforce, Teams data).
• Basic SQL/ETL exposure (not required but beneficial).
• Experience in professional services/consulting firms.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
