In your day-to-day, you will:
Support client delivery across carbon accounting, sustainability reporting, research and wider operational activities.
Review and clean raw client data across utility, logistics, financial and operational sources, including electricity usage, vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, annual expense reports and more.
Consolidate data from various formats into structured Excel reports used in internal carbon modelling tools.
Reformat messy spreadsheets, copy and paste data from scanned or PDF documents, and ensure data is aligned by scope, location, date and emission source.
Spot and flag anomalies and inconsistencies such as mismatched dates, sudden usage spikes, duplicated entries or incorrect units.
Prepare bullet-style discrepancy reports or summaries to assist consultants in following up with clients.
Use advanced Excel functions, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, filters, conditional formatting and other data management techniques to improve data structure, readability and overall data quality.
Support carbon consultants by clarifying data-related issues and collaborating through Microsoft Teams, Slack and other internal communication tools.
Occasionally assist in assigning emission factors (where applicable) or flag missing information requiring client input.
Collaborate closely with the consulting and delivery team to ensure accurate, timely and high-quality outputs for clients.
Help reduce turnaround times for data preparation and contribute to high-quality reporting outcomes for external clients.
Contribute to continuous improvements in data preparation processes and operational efficiency.
Skills you have:
At least 3 years of experience working in data analysis, auditing or financial analysis, ideally within a consulting environment.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, data cleaning, filtering, sorting and efficient handling of large datasets.
Experience working with expense data, purchase ledgers, utility data or similar financial and operational documents.
Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail, including the ability to identify unusual patterns, understand numerical relationships and detect inconsistencies.
Comfortable working with inconsistent file formats such as Excel, PDF and scanned documents, and transforming them into structured datasets.
Commercially minded with the ability to understand business needs and apply analytical thinking to practical client outcomes.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and datasets simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
Comfortable working within a consulting or professional services environment and managing multiple client priorities and deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Teams or Slack for internal collaboration and communication.
Excellent written communication skills in professional English, with the ability to clearly explain data-related issues to internal stakeholders.
Comfortable learning new systems and adapting quickly to evolving technologies and internal processes.
Able to work independently while collaborating effectively within a remote team environment.
Skills that will make you stand out:
Familiarity with the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Power Platform and Microsoft Copilot.
Experience within sustainability, ESG, carbon accounting, environmental services or professional services.
Familiarity with assigning emission factors or working with data used in carbon emissions reporting.
Previous experience supporting consulting or client delivery teams.
