In your day-to-day, you will:
Support sustainability consultants by preparing, structuring and analysing client data used for carbon accounting and sustainability reporting.
Review, clean and transform large volumes of unstructured client data from various sources, including Excel files, PDFs, scanned documents, operational reports and exported system data.
Consolidate different data formats into structured datasets and Excel reports that can be used for carbon modelling and reporting.
Identify data inconsistencies, errors and anomalies such as missing information, incorrect units, duplicate entries, unusual trends or unexpected changes in usage patterns.
Compare current client data against historical information to identify discrepancies and highlight areas requiring further investigation.
Prepare clear summaries and reports explaining data issues, trends and findings for consultants and internal stakeholders.
Support consultants by taking ownership of repetitive and data-heavy tasks, allowing them to focus on higher-level consulting activities.
Build and improve Excel-based tools, templates and workflows to increase accuracy and efficiency.
Use advanced Excel functions including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, filtering, conditional formatting and data validation.
Support data quality checks before information is transferred into reporting tools such as Power BI.
Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve existing workflows through technology and AI tools.
Assist with developing structured AI-supported workflows, documentation and repeatable processes where applicable.
Collaborate with consultants and internal teams through Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Slack and other collaboration tools.
Continuously improve data preparation processes to reduce turnaround times and improve delivery quality.
Skills you have:
At least 3 years of experience working in data analysis, business analysis, reporting, auditing, financial analysis or a similar analytical role.
Strong experience working with large, complex and unstructured datasets and transforming them into organised, usable outputs.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, formulas, lookups, filtering, sorting, data cleaning and handling large datasets.
Experience working with Power BI reporting and data visualisation.
Experience analysing operational, financial, customer or business data and identifying trends, inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors, patterns and unusual data behaviour.
Experience working with different file formats including Excel, CSV, PDF and scanned documents.
Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into structured data solutions.
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset toward improving processes.
Comfortable working independently while collaborating with consultants and remote teams.
Excellent written English communication skills with the ability to explain data findings clearly.
Comfortable learning new systems, tools and technologies.
Experience working with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint or similar collaboration platforms.
Skills that will make you stand out:
Experience working within sustainability, ESG, carbon accounting, environmental consulting or professional services.
Experience using Microsoft 365 tools, including SharePoint, Power Platform, Power BI or Microsoft Copilot.
Experience creating AI-assisted workflows, automation tools or structured AI processes.
Familiarity with using AI tools to improve productivity, automate repetitive tasks or build internal solutions.
Basic coding knowledge (such as Python, SQL, VBA or similar) and the ability to apply technical thinking to data challenges.
